LABS believes every sport has an undiscovered horizon. figure skating, despite decades of artistry and technical breakthroughs, still hasn’t answered one question:
is there a limit?
our mission
over the next olympic cycle, LABS will conduct a research-driven experiment to test the absolute boundaries of the sport. by blending biomechanics, ai choreography, endurance science, and creative performance, we aim to break every measurable record in figure skating — while mapping the upper limits of human potential on ice.
deliverables (2026–2030)
first quintuple jump → executed and verified in competition
most rotations in history → quintuple/sextuple attempts documented
world’s hardest footwork → codified via biomechanical scoring
highest pcs (artistry) → ai-human hybrid program optimization
extended ultra-program → experimental 6-minute endurance test
technical whitepapers → published data on limits of rotation, endurance, training methods and choreography
why it matters
to skating fans → a chance to witness history
to athletes → a roadmap for what’s physically and artistically possible
to science → new insights into biomechanics, endurance, and ai creativity
to culture → proof that the impossible is only a data point waiting to be tested
join us
we’re inviting collaborators, federations, rinks, researchers, and visionaries to push skating beyond its boundaries. contact us at hello[at]nrutseab.com for more information.
for athletes
LABS is inviting talented athletes to apply for our research-driven program, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the boundaries of human performance on ice.
if selected, you will:
(1) have your training costs and/or salary fully covered, regardless of current sponsorship status.
(2) be invited to join LABS as a member gaining access to cutting-edge ai-assisted training and biomechanical analysis.
(3) receive two guaranteed performing jobs and two brand collaborations annually, offering professional growth both on and off the ice.
(4) contribute to published research and technical whitepapers, leaving your mark on the future of skating.
(5) be among the first skaters to trial our training regimes, methods, and technologies in development: all introduced only after rigorous in-house athlete testing to safeguard against injury.
who can apply:
(1) competitive figure skaters at any level, driven by curiosity and ambition.
(2) athletes willing to experiment, innovate, and collaborate in a research-focused environment.
(3) athletes that showcase a creative understanding and are mission/goal-oriented, able to align with labs’ vision of pushing skating beyond its limits.
applications open in 2026. email 'skater' to hello[at]nrutseab[dot]com and we'll email you the application once it's live.
